The Clan Trust helps bring hope to people affected by dementia in Norfolk.
A grant from The Clan Trust has helped Alzheimer’s Society continue its vital work supporting people affected by dementia across Norfolk - offering comfort, guidance and hope to individuals and families during some of their most difficult moments.
One in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime. It affects us all. Thanks to the funding, Alzheimer’s Society has been able to strengthen its presence in Norfolk, where more than 17,500 people are currently living with dementia. The grant has supported the charity’s core services, helping ensure that those affected have access to trusted advice, emotional support, and practical guidance.
Tarryn Stuart, Regional Fundraiser for Norfolk and Suffolk at Alzheimer’s Society, shared how much the support meant to their team:
“We really couldn’t do the work we do without the generous support of people like those at The Clan Trust. Their grant helped fund our vital support services, offering help and hope to everyone affected by dementia. The work Clan Trust does to support young farmers, science in agriculture, and outreach for the elderly is so inspiring and impactful – it’s vital that trusts like this exist in our communities.”
Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity, providing help and hope to everyone affected - past, present, and future. Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer, and research shows that by 2040, 1.4 million people will be living with the condition in the UK, alongside many millions more carers, partners, families and friends. Too many face dementia alone, but Alzheimer’s Society is determined that no one should.
Every donation makes a difference. A gift of £10 could help fund research to end the devastation caused by dementia, while £20 could pay for two weeks of essential Companion Calls for someone affected by dementia. A donation of £50 could help families access a Dementia Adviser, providing essential, life-changing support.
The charity is the only UK dementia research organisation to fund both biomedical and care research, and as a founding partner of the UK Dementia Research Institute, it is driving advances in diagnosis, treatment and care. Alzheimer’s Society will not rest until people living with dementia and their carers live more fulfilled and less fearful lives, free from stigma and inequality.
Support is available through a range of services, including the Dementia Support Line on 0333 150 3456, the online Dementia Support Forum, and local Dementia Advisers.
The Clan Trust is proud to have played a part in ensuring more people in Norfolk feel less alone, better informed, and supported along their dementia journey.
